Welcome

harrietwilder@pickenscountyschools.org

Harriett Wilder, counselor at Harmony Elementary School, graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a Master’s Degree in Education in the area of counseling.  She has worked in counseling in private school, the college setting, and in public school.  Harriett moved to Jasper eleven years ago with her husband and children.

Harriett’s husband, Dean, is an Aquatic Biologist specializing in mussels and fish. Her daughter, Melinda, is a high school math teacher in Bartow County and her son, Thomas, is a student at Kennesaw State University studying Biology.

Mrs. Wilder enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, watching old black and white movies, and listening to music.  She also values the opportunity to work with the wonderful staff, students, and parents of HES.

As a counseling philosophy, Mrs. Wilder believes that people are not molded by events in life but the reaction to these events.  Mrs. Wilder strives to teach students that education is an opportunity to grow personally, contribute to the growth of others, and to affect positive change in the community.
