CAMP

CAMP is short for Computer Lab, Agriculture and Arts, Music, and Physical Education. It is an integrated curriculum that is driven by exploratory project-based learning and student-centered development of ideas and solutions. Introducing these concepts to preschool and elementary school students helps boost student learning and interest in subject areas like science, technology, engineering, agriculture and math.

CAMP concepts at Harmony Elementary School naturally incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills. These concepts help spark creative thinking, application and exploration, providing students with a safe environment to sharpen other soft skills and preparing them for situations when they’ll need them in the future.

Computer Lab - The Harmony Elementary Computer Lab strives to provide a conducive learning space that enables students to develop the skills necessary for collaboration and teamwork.  Our lab not only allows students access and opportunities to develop computer skills, but also offers interactive learning opportunities through STEM activities introducing coding, engineering, and designing.

Agriculture - Our mission in Library Science (Ag) is to help students build understanding through hands-on experience with growing, maintaining, and caring for various plant species.  Our goal is to prepare students early for potential careers with informed choices in the area of agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resources systems.

Art - The art room is a place where all students can succeed and grow their imagination and creativity! Art students will explore and use a variety of art techniques and media. Students will be introduced to many artists, styles of art, time periods, cultures, and other subjects through art lessons and projects. Students are encouraged to use their problem solving skills, creativity, and imagination when creating their works of art. The Harmony Elementary art room is a place for positivity, creativity, and learning!

Music - The Harmony Music program strives to teach students; to think tunes and sing them with expression, to feel the steady beat with a rhyme and song, and to respond expressively and reflect on the artful elements of music.  Students should be able to sing a lullaby to a baby, move to the beat and dance to the music with a steady beat, and move expressively to music.

Physical Education - The Harmony Physical Education program strives: to help students develop healthy and physically active lifestyles. Students should be able to perform various locomotor and nonlocomotor skills as well as be able to identify healthy lifestyle behaviors.
