Media Center
Harmony Elementary School's library/media center's goal is to promote a love of reading for enjoyment and for knowledge through collaboration with learners, teachers, administrators, and parents. Our media center inspires readers to find enjoyment, curiosity, and knowledge through a welcoming environment and organized collection of print and digital resources. Students will feel empowered to build their literary foundation and critical thinking skills to persevere as lifelong learners and leaders in a 21st-century digital world.

Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.

Story Time from Space is a project of the Global Space Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit education foundation. Where children’s books are sent to the International Space Station. While in space, astronauts are videotaping themselves reading these books to the children of Earth. These videos are being edited and placed on this Story Time From Space website- look under the heading ” Story Time Videos”.

GALILEO, Georgia’s virtual library, is an online library portal to authoritative, trustworthy information that isn’t available through free search engines or internet directories.
You don’t need a password to access GALILEO when you’re at school or if you get there through Clever when you’re off-campus.

Accelerated Reader is a digital program that helps students and teachers manage and monitor independent reading practice in both English and Spanish.
Students pick a book at their own level and read it at their own pace. When students finish the book, they take a short quiz on the computer to check their understanding.
As students read and take quizzes, they earn points and track their progress toward their individualized Accelerated Reader goals.
