Pickens County School District is preparing for an important change to our school configuration beginning with the 2027–2028 school year. Under the new model, our schools will serve K–5 elementary, 6–8 junior high, and 9–12 high school students.
This change is designed to strengthen academic continuity, reduce unnecessary school transitions, and create learning environments that are aligned with the needs of each age group.
Beginning October 1, 2026, all families of elementary students will need to log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to review their child's school placement and either accept the placement or submit an appeal. This information is important because the district must have an accurate student count by December in order to appropriately plan staffing, transportation, instructional materials, classrooms, and other resources for the 2027–2028 school year.
We've created a dedicated Grade Reconfiguration Information Page with everything families need to know, including attendance boundaries, the placement and appeal process, transportation, important dates, frequently asked questions, and ongoing updates.
