Gifted Coordinator - Kristine Elrod

Welcome to Discovery!

I am so excited to serve as the Gifted Coordinator this year at Harmony Elementary! This is a new chapter in my career in education. I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grades at Harmony since we opened the doors in August 2006. Prior to teaching at Harmony, I taught for 5 years at Cloverleaf Elementary in Bartow County. I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, a Masters degree in Reading and Math from Walden University, and a gifted endorsement.

I am from Kennesaw, Georgia. I have been married to my husband, Trey (a Pickens county native) for 27 years. We have 2 adult children, Will and Kirsten. They both graduated from Pickens County High School. I also have 3 fur babies. To me, they are babies not dogs. We have 2 Yorkies and a Saint Bernard. The Saint Bernard was raised with the Yorkies, so she isn't always aware of her size.

I enjoy spending time with my family. We love visiting Disney World every chance we get. We also enjoy going on adventures in our Jeep, the Auburn Tigers,  and spending time outside. I love reading, decorating, Christmas, Christmas trees, (I decorate 9 differently themed trees each year!) and teaching!

I look forward to an amazing year of discovery and learning this year!
